PAR3 and Prodigy Rising Stars Youth Development Program

In envisioning the future of disc golf in Latvia, Par3.lv and disc golf coach Rolands Bergs have joined forces with Prodigy Disc to create the Prodigy Rising Stars youth development program. Through this initiative, three promising young disc golfers will be selected via a competitive process to receive both material and educational support.

The program aims to foster the growth of young disc golf talents while increasing awareness of sponsorship opportunities. Support that comes from external sources rather than family funds enhances motivation and drives players toward achieving higher goals and better sponsorship agreements. Currently, Latvia has four manufacturer-sponsored athletes: Toms Vācietis and Sintija Klezberga, supported by Latitude 64; Rolands Bergs, supported by Prodigy Discs; and Rainers Balodis, supported by Innova Discs.

Elviss Brauns, owner of PAR3, states:

“In today's sports industry, sponsors are no longer solely focused on an athlete's professional skills. Increasingly, they value the athlete's personality, ability to create content, draw attention, and influence their audience. You don’t need to be the best player to secure sponsorship—you can achieve this through active involvement in the disc golf community, as a coach, commentator, or promoter. However, disc golf manufacturers primarily expect their support to translate into increased sales within the specific country.”

Prodigy Disc-supported Rolands Bergs adds:

“I may not be the best disc golfer, but I might be the best disc golf coach in Latvia. My activity on the DGTrenini Instagram and Facebook profiles was noticed and appreciated by Prodigy Discs. I also found it easy to attract sponsors when I was involved in Freestyle BMX. Even though I wasn't the best rider, my creativity and active approach earned me support from BMX component manufacturers, shops, and clothing brands.”

What Will Prodigy Rising Stars Team Members Receive?

Young disc golfers who submit an application to the Prodigy Rising Stars support program will have the opportunity to benefit from:

• €300 gift card for purchases at the ProdigyStore.eu online shop;
• 30% discount on discs and equipment at the PAR3.lv online store;
• Practical support and advice from Rolands Bergs and Elviss Brauns on developing a disc golf career, creating content, and attracting sponsors.

The three selected candidates will also have responsibilities related to growing their social media presence and increasing their follower count.

Any disc golfer can apply to the Prodigy Rising Stars program by filling out the application form here: application form.

The application period runs until May 12th. The selected participants for the Prodigy Rising Stars program will be announced on May 17th.
